Akiko - Akiko

Keeping with the Richard Carpenter theme, here is a CD released in 1989 and produced by Richard Carpenter. It is eerie and haunting how this singer sounds like the late Karen Carpenter!!! Richard wrote and sings background harmonies on most of the tracks. This CD is unbelievably amazing and will be loved by any Carpenters fan. Here is the download link: http://sharebee.com/5c2f192a

  1. At certain moments, Akiko's voice does bear some resemblance to Karen's. But just a bit. Karen's voice is much more mellifluous, has more of the lower frequency overtones. The singing lilt, pronunciation accruable to the unique shape of lips, oral cavity and vocal cords, as well as the intonation and singing style, are still inimitable. But thanks for showing what is possible via Akiko! :)

  3. Hi, David.

I'm listening to it, now. Akiko got really a "Karen's tone". In the arrangements and vocals it's very, very clear Richard's influences... "Only the angels know" shows it.

I also thank you for bringing her to us.
